Greece Lacrosse Association has signed a group fixed rate fee agreement with the Law Office of George C. Xamplas for the legal consultation and services in connection with the various issues in regards to the obtainment of Greek Citizenship in Greece for Greek Lacrosse Team members.

There are three different routes a team member may obtain citizenship depending on their particular situation. Depending on the team members’ family history they will fall into one of the following categories and fee schedule:

1.  DIRECT REGISTRATION (FEE = $500 per team member)

(a) For children born before 1984 to two Greek parents, who were married with a Religious Marriage, OR (b) for children born after 1984 to at least one Greek parent (the marriage is irrelevant here).

Under these scenarios, we will need: (i) Birth Certificates for the parents (we can assist in obtaining those), (ii) Wedding Certificate from the State, County, or Church), and (iii) Birth Certificate of the applicant. All certificates issued by the State need to be stamped with the Seal of   Hague (Apostille).

2. DIRECT EVALUATION OR DETERMINATION OF CITIZENSHIP AND INDIRECT EVALUATION OR DETERMINATION OF CITIZENSHIP

(FEE = $700 per team member)

(a) For children born before 1984 to a Greek father and a non-Greek mother (Religious Wedding); (b) for children born before 1984 to a Greek mother and a non-Greek father; (c) grandchildren born to a Greek grandfather on their father’s side; (d) great-grandchildren born to a Greek great-grandfather on their father’s side (only males on the lineage).

Under the above scenarios, we need: (i) Birth Certificates for the parents, grandparents, great-grandparents (we can assist in obtaining those), (ii) Wedding Certificate from the State, County, or Church) for all the marriages, and (iii) Birth Certificate of the applicant. All certificates issued by the State need to be stamped with the Seal of Hague (Apostille).

3.  NATURALIZATION (FEE = $1,000 per team member)

This is for all the cases not belonging to one of the above.

We need: (i) any certificate to connect the applicant to a Greek ancestor to form an unbroken chain of ancestry, (ii) all certificates as above, (iii) an FBI criminal record. All certificates issued by the State need to be stamped with the Seal of Hague (Apostille).

It is very important to mention that every case is different and it needs to be examined closely and in detail, because one minor detail (for example the dogma of the wedding or a birth date) might change things dramatically. The above examples are the basic guidelines and do not guarantee Greek Citizenship as that right and privilege remains in the power granted by the Hellenic Republic.
